What Are Small Groups?

At Emmanuel, we deeply value community—people gathering together to share life with one another and to practice the “one another” passages found throughout Scripture. While our Sunday Gatherings bring the whole church family together to worship Christ through song, prayer, and the study of God’s Word, joining a Small Group is often the next important step for members and guests. In these smaller settings, deeper relationships, encouragement, and spiritual growth take place.

Small Groups typically consist of 10–16 people who meet weekly, either in homes or at the church building. Some meet early in the morning, others during the day, but most meet in the evening. Each group is led by caring leaders who are there to support, encourage, and pray for you as you walk through life together.

Our Small Groups revolve around four rhythms: Food, Bible Study, Prayer, and Service.

Food

We gather to share food together, whether it's a full meal, snacks, desserts, or coffee and drinks. Sharing a table helps build meaningful relationships and creates opportunities for connection.

Bible Study

We open God's Word together to learn, grow, encourage, and challenge one another in our faith. Studies may include sermon-based discussions, RightNow Media video series, topical studies, or books of the Bible.

Prayer

We pray for one another through life's joys, challenges, and everyday circumstances. God never intended for us to walk alone, and Small Groups provide a place where we can support one another through prayer.

Service

We seek practical ways to serve one another within our group, our church family, and the wider community. 

Small Groups are designed to help people belong, grow, care for one another, and live out their faith in everyday life. Whether you are new to Emmanuel or have been attending for years, there is a place for you.
